Certificates are Irrelevat in New Media

Rosie is against certification , and I have to agree with her.

Certificates measure a persons abilities in a specific area at a given point in time. Whereas anyone working in new media has to be constantly learning in order to be good at their job.

Doing the least amount of work possible to get that certificate is not the same as ongoing self improvement.

Certificates give recruiters with the illusion that they can put less effort into their job.

Certificates may be appropriate in established, stable industries like plumbing, but when the platforms is constantly changing how can they be?
